Silhouette shots

took these two shots a couple of months ago during a picnic. on the camera the photo looked fine, but when i see it on my computer it is looking dark and my friend's silhouette can not be seen clearly.

must be my computer's screen setting i guess since most of my photographs look dark when i check them on my computer.
